Dear Parents

Welcome back! I hope you all had a good summer holiday. As we start a new school year we welcome some new children: Samuel Entwisle, Joseph Maden and Edward Stott in Reception and Jack Simpson in Year 5. I am sure they and their families will be very happy at our school.

Chester Zoo Trip – Thursday 18th September

Animals and habitats is our topic for this half term and we have organised a trip to Chester Zoo to support the work of the children. We will be leaving school by coach at 8.30am and expect to be back at school at 5pm. In order to cover the cost of the trip we ask for a parental contribution of £7.00. Thank you to F.O.B.B.S. again for funding the coach for this trip. Please make any cheques payable to Bolton by Bowland Primary School. Any children who normally are transported to and from school will need to be collected and dropped off due to the different timings. Children who normally have a school meal will be provided with a packed lunch. For ease of organisation we ask that children who normally bring a packed lunch, take a school packed lunch on that day (cost £1.75). If this is not suitable please let Mrs Craig know as soon as possible.

Swimming

The swimming programme begins again on Tuesday 9th September. We ask for a contribution of £2 per week (£14 for this half term) to allow us to continue the programme over 2 terms. Cheques should be made payable to LCC.

Data Collection

The Data Collection form will have been given to you. Would you please check that the details and information are correct and return it to school as soon as possible to allow us to enter it into our school data system?

Harvest Service

The harvest service will take place in church on Sunday 28th September at 11.15 am. Our children will be playing a part in the service, leading with songs and readings.

After School Clubs

We want to provide a range of activities over the year. Two clubs will begin next week, please note the information:

Tuesday (w.e.f. 30.9.08) Tuesday people 3.30 -5.00 until 2nd December
Wednesday 3.30 – 4.30 Gymnastics and multi sports with Mrs Towler
Thursday 3.30 – 4.30 Pro Sport multi sports coaching (leaflet enclosed)
