Padiham’s social side visited Bolton for a day out which,
in view of this summer’s weather record thus far , proved
for them to be good from a weather viewpoint but not so good from
the cricket perspective. Chris Seed took 3 of Padiham’s wickets
for 4 ably supported by Calum Harris who bowled 8 overs returning
figures of 2 for 8. Sam Richardson also bowled well conceding 20
off eight overs. Johno took a good catch off Calum’s bowling
which will be in the reckoning for catch of the season. Johno then
went on to make an unbeaten 57 off 39 balls. His knock included
5 fours and 4 sixes. Nigel Bunyan scored 27. The
wicket keepers’ union was well represented with Paul
Levet ( who is undergoing a dope test as we write ) fielding like
a teenager and Roger Wood ,who kept wicket, returned a clean sheet
for byes and took a good catch behind. Mike Stott’s shy at
half a stump contributed to the downfall of Padiham resulting in
the run out of Padiham’s best batsman
