Bolton-by-Bowland v Waddington & Grindleton
Thursdays, May 06
Bolton by Bowland lose to Waddington but win at Grindleton
Bolton lost to Waddington in the first fixture of the Thursday league. Waddington
scored 138 with Richard Drinkall contributing 44. Stephen Booth took two
wickets. Bolton managed 133 in reply with Joe Bunyan also scoring 44.
In their second game Bolton comfortably beat a young Grindleton side in a game spoilt by rain. Bolton scored 127 off 15 overs with Nigel Bunyan, Iain Harris and Tim Hall all retiring due to the 25 rule. Iain returned to the crease for two balls hitting a six off the last ball.
Grindleton started well with openers Sutton and
Mike Doherty keeping up with the run rate. The game however turned on Joe
Bunyan’s second over
where he conceded only one run. Grindleton lost wickets at a rapid rate granting
Nigel Bunyan and Keith White three wickets each. Joe helped his father’s
figures with two fine catches.
