Iain Harris XI (‘Tyneborough’) retain Keith Brunskill trophy.

Holmefield: (Harris XI won toss): BBB lost by 1 wkt.
The ‘Tyneborough ‘eleven, sometimes twelve, beat Bolton by one wicket in a game that produced a tight finish and tested the accuracy of umpire’s Smalley and Winfrey and the scorer. Cambridge Blue Hancock scored an unbeaten 54 as the visitors chased Bolton’s score of 163. Martin Brown top scored for the home side who were constrained by Henderson, the eventual man of the match. Gordon Wilson, on secondment from the south, took three of the visitors’ wickets. The bowling of Brown and Simon Reynolds caused the visitors problems at nine down but they sneaked the win. Kate Brunskill presented the trophy to Iain whose control on life generally deteriorated through the match and into the night. At ‘brunch’ the following day little had improved with the Harris demeanour.

Other highlights included Clare Reynolds outscoring Simon and a stumping from Woody.
