Bolton-by-Bowland v Roundhay
Away, Sunday 6th August 2006

Fine display by BBB produce great win at Roundhay.
East Keswick: (BBB won toss): BBB beat Roundhay by 20 runs.

Outstanding performances from Chris Seed and Stephen Booth secured Bolton a fine 20 run win over a star studded Roundhay side. Bolton made a shaky start putting on only 20 for the first wicket after 11 overs. Chris Seed then shared a succession of 8 partnerships to reach 100 hitting ten fours and running five three’s. His ninth wicket partnership of 47, with Phil Smalley, saw him to his century; the partnership included a fine unselfish display with the bat by Philip. Stephen Booth was unplayable capturing a fine five wicket haul. David Ashton, despite his all previous day and night ‘other activities’, fielded well and took a fine catch to dismiss Roundhay star Mrugan. Geoff Barker, another fine cricketer in the Roundhay line up carried his bat for 69 not out. After this fine display the captain, vice president and chairman have all withdrawn their letters of resignation believing that their youth policy is now producing results.
