Batting not up to scratch
Holmefield: (Roundhay won toss): Roundhay beat BBB by 44 runs

The wily octogenarian, Eric Elspeth brought a Roundhay team without Arthur Hull to play a much younger Bolton team than in previous encounters. Martin Brown opened the bowling for Bolton and was unlucky to concede 13 in his first over before ending his spell after a further 7 overs for only 11 runs. Nigel Bunyan took the key wicket of M Whitehead who made 56 for the visitors. Nigel took three wickets as did Chris Billows whose next ball will be a ‘hat trick ball’. Bolton fielded well with Peter Iveson and Phil Smalley both taking excellent catches. Roundhay’s total looked reachable but Bolton’s batting could not cope with the fine bowling of Nash, Barker and Mrugan. Mark Carlton and Ryan Kelly gave Bolton a glimpse of hope with a fine partnership of 63 but after Ryan’s run out the match was a lost cause. Eric transported the Bolton chairman back to Bolton Close after an enjoyable evening in the Coach.
