Grindleton beat BBB in inaugural Robert Little sponsorship game.

Bob Little created a fine environment for the game he sponsored against the local rivals. The crowd of approaching 200 was entertained to a fine game as well as plenty of refreshment. At one stage it sounded more like Old Trafford than BBB. BBB made a respectable 181, possible 20 or so short, with Mark Carlton recording his first 50 for the club. He was ably supported by Martin Brown who top scored for Bolton with 57. Chris Seed pushed the score on, scoring 22 off as many balls, but then Crossland with a relentless display of catching and bowling closed out the Bolton innings. Grindelton’s reply was built on Hutchinson’s 59 and finished off with the bat by that man Chalky Crossland; Bob Little presented the man of the match champagne to Chalky as the after match celebrations began.
