Bolton-by-Bowland v Great Harwood
Away, Sunday 3rd July 2005
Impressive away win at Gt. Harwood.
Gt Harwood (BBB won toss): BBB beat Gt. Harwood by 83 runs.
Bolton completed the double over Gt. Harwood
helped by Chris Seed and Mark Carlton who put on 90 for the second wicket
partnership. Before that Gordon
Wilson scored easily, knocking 38 off 37 balls. Chris Seed’s 85 included
17 fours and 3 sixes. Stephen Booth took the score to 216 with a fine 30
no. The young Harwood side was no match for the Bolton old guard of Levet,
Hill, Darlington and Wood. At one point the average age of the Bolton leg
side fielders was approaching 60 some 40 years above the age of the Harwood
lads. Roger Wood’s stumping of Harwood star Jackson is a lesson to
us all that it’s not over till the fat lady sings. The fat lady could
have sung three arias in the time the ball was delivered to the stumps but
poor Jackson didn’t look back!!
