Ian Harris invitation X1 beat Bolton in Keith Brunskill memorial game.
Holmefield (BBB won toss): Ian Harris invitation X1 beat BBB by 11 runs.
In a fitting tribute to Keith good cricket was on display from both sides. Kate Brunskill presented the trophy to winning captain S Watts with S Burnhill receiving the man of the match award. The Harris team scored 200 with Ian scoring 63 off 48 balls eventually eclipsed by Gordon Wilson for the home side who scored 65 off 49 balls. Burnhill scored 50 for the Harris X1. Phil Smalley took a great catch and is in the running for catch of the season.
Bolton’s chase of the runs faltered at over 16 and the win looked impossible until Ian Harris had completed his set of six overs with 3 for 29. Gordon then brought the game back to Bolton’s grasp with a flurry of 4’s and 6’s until he was caught on the boundary by visiting skipper Watts. Steve Mercer reached double figures but the game was just beyond the reach of the home side. The Harris family took 5 for 85!!
Keith would have taken note of the lack of LBW’s.
