Bolton-by-Bowland v Rathmell
Away, Sunday 1st August
Rathmell beat BBB in tense finish.
GIGGLESWICK (BBB won toss): BBB beat Rathmell beat BBB by 2 wkts.
Under the dome at Giggleswick school Rathmell
beat BBB in a close game. Mick Smalley and John Hunt both scored 50’s on a good track but then
the run rate slowed when the Rathmell captain, J Snowdon, bowled out his
last 4 overs for 13 runs. He was supported by the rest of his team’s
fine fielding. After probably the best away tea of the year Martin Brown
struck in his first over building hope for a Bolton victory. However, Harrison
and Andrews had different ideas and put on 80 for the second wicket. Snowdon
built on this with a fine 46 not out to give Rathmell victory. Spencer Ashton,
of Gisburn School, made his debut but still the average age remained stubbornly
high!!
