Harris and Carlton excel against Downham
HOLMEFIELD (Downham won toss): BBB beat Downham by 4 wkts.
In a rearranged fixture Bolton entertained Downham
for the second time in 4 days and won with only 7 balls left. In a game,
which contained a ‘Bunch
of Booths’, both sides contributed to a fine game. Downham batted first
putting on 123 for the first wicket with Rodney Booth scoring 57 before being
caught by Martin Brown off Steven Booth’s bowling. (Rodney reciprocated
in Bolton’s innings dismissing Steven for 17.) P Parker, the other
Downham opener, scored 66. Mark Carlton was Bolton’s best bowler and
took the wickets of A Booth and D Lakin. Iain Harris returned to form with
the bat for Bolton scoring 47 off 83 balls.
