Bolton-by-Bowland v Rathmell
Evening game, away, Thursday 13th May.

SETTLE: (Rathmell won toss): BBB beat Rathmell by 3 wickets

The team less N Bunyan plus G Wilson

Tim Hall, captain, took a hat trick and scored 25 not out as BBB beat Rathmell in the opening game of the Thursday Ribble Shield. Bolton are defending the title and the opener against last years runners up may decide the winners this year. Rathmell started well, with openers Shepherd and Handy each scoring 25, finally reaching 102. Hall’s hat-trick and Mick Smalley’s three wickets were both vital in securing victory for Bolton. Again Bolton’s batting was poor with only Harris, Booth and Hall reaching double figures leaving a tense finish which saw the Wicketkeepers Union of Wood and Levet scramble 15 in the last two overs to secure victory for Bolton with 3 balls left.
