Executive Committee Meeting 31 January 2008

Present: Allan Clements, Colin Darlington, Chris Bosonnet, Iain Harris, John Hill, Simon Reynolds, Tim Hall, Nigel Bunyan.

PRE-SEASON

Winter nets to run from Feb 19th, at a cost of £3 adults and £1 juniors. WE NEED AN EMAIL OR LETTER GOING OUT ON THIS.

We’ll have a pre-season tidying session on April 12th. Nigel to inform everyone.
Iain suggests getting a bin for soil/seed/sawdust. Chris’s committee will source it.
Simon will get two new gateposts and rabbit netting.

PRACTICE NET

Simon to put the frame back together. It just needs welding and wheels. He’ll have the job finished by the end of March. Cost will be approx. £300.

GROUND WORK

Allan said the clean-up in September went well. Mick believes the repair work on the £1,400 roller will be finished in time for the start of the season.

Hilly is happy to do the white-lining and flag-laying but will let others know if he can’t do it.

Post match tidying: agreed that the Sunday/Midweek captains will nominate people to do this.

DONATIONS

Nigel is writing to Geoff Billows to thank him for his donations. Jonno has written to Jack Symonds to thank him for the free tickets to Lancashire games. We have the chance of more tickets for the coming season. See later.

SOCIAL EVENTS

April 19th: Safari Supper. This will start in the Mews square.

June 7th: Colin’s Bangers and Beans Night

August 16th: Spanish Evening at Foxghyll

October 10th: Presentation Evening, plus Fat Lads’ Weigh-in

Note :( March 15th. Fundraiser for Iain’s rugby charity in the village hall. Three courses for £20 a head)

FIXTURES/SELECTION

Hilly has done them all apart from Strathearn. The first match is scheduled for April 27th. Court House Casuals on July 19th. Strathearn, Settle or Arncliffe on September 7th. August 31st: Under 40s, Over 40s.

Iain and Tim will do Thursday night selection.

The loan stood at £1092. It was agreed we should pay the loan off.

MEMBERSHIP

Roger is back on Feb 9th. So far, aside from the life memberships, subs have come in from Simon.

Subs are £15 for players, £10 social members and £5 for juniors; family rates negotiable.

Sunday match fees are £5 for adults, £2 for students. Midweek equivalents are £3 and £1.50.

Iain is to price up proper club shirts.

LANCASHIRE TICKETS

Iain to look at the idea of taking friends of the club to some of the games we have tickets for. Nigel suggests we look at taking some of the kids to Old Trafford for one of the pre-season friendlies against Yorkshire. They’re on April 7 and 8.
